Our School

Student Life

Our students grow and learn in a secure and caring environment.

At St. Mary, Star of the Sea School, our students are supported academically and as a whole person. Students have the opportunity to enhance their educational experience with a rich array of activities and leadership opportunities spanning sports, liturgical participation, and student council and more.

Nurturing Leaders

At our school, student leaders play a crucial role in cultivating a positive and inclusive environment. These empowered individuals embody responsibility, initiative, and a commitment to fostering collaboration among their peers, serving as role models for younger students. Whether through active involvement in student council, the Annual Academic Junior High Decathlon, organizing events for Catholic Schools Week, or offering support to kindergarteners, our student leaders inspire academic, social, and personal excellence. Their dedication significantly contributes to our vibrant school culture and Charism, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive and make a meaningful impact.

Stewards of their Faith

St. Mary, Star of the Sea School radiates a strong Charism that permeates our entire school community. Our students actively embrace their role as stewards of their Faith, with numerous opportunities provided by the school. Those who have received their First Holy Communion are encouraged to serve as altar servers, lectors, and participate in sacraments like reconciliation and the Eucharist. Throughout the year, students engage in various events, including the blessing of animals, Star of the Sea feast day, All Saints Day, Catholic Schools Week, and fundraising activities benefiting local and global communities. All students and families are invited to attend our family mass at the parish, fostering a sense of community that brings us closer to God and empowers our students to become lifelong learners of their faith.

Fostering Teamwork and Sportsmanship

In our 5th to 8th-grade after-school sports program with the North County Parochial League, we prioritize teamwork and sportsmanship. Starting from 5th grade, boys can participate in flag football, basketball, and soccer, while girls can engage in volleyball, soccer, and basketball. The league organizes diverse tournaments throughout the year, providing opportunities for athletes to showcase their skills.
